The Lune pairs a solid walnut frame with channel-stitched velvet cushions that follow the body’s natural recline. Inspired by mid-century campaign furniture, its exposed joinery and polished brass fittings celebrate the mechanics of comfort — every bolt, strap, and stitch is left in plain view.
A saddle-leather headrest slides along twin straps to suit your posture, while levelling brass feet keep the chair steady on any floor. Each piece is bench-made to order in our Jakarta atelier and signed by the craftsman who assembled it.
Vacuum the velvet weekly with a soft-brush attachment, always working in the direction of the pile. Blot spills immediately with a dry, undyed cloth — never rub. For deeper cleaning, use a professional service certified for natural-fibre upholstery.
Wipe the walnut frame with a barely damp cloth and dry at once. Polish the brass fittings twice a year with a non-abrasive metal polish, keeping it clear of the fabric. Position the chair away from direct sunlight to prevent uneven fading.
Every order is inspected, blanket-wrapped, and delivered by our white-glove courier — within 10–14 working days across Java and Bali, and 3–5 weeks for international destinations. Assembly and packaging removal are included.
If the piece isn’t right, contact us within 14 days of delivery to arrange a collection. Items returned in original condition are refunded in full, excluding shipping. Made-to-order colourways are exchangeable but non-refundable.

- Ergonomic studies place the most restful torso-to-thigh angle between 110° and 130°, where pressure on the lower spine drops sharply. The fixed 120° recline sits at the centre of that sweet spot.
Velvet
Woven in small batches from long-staple cotton at an OEKO-TEX® certified mill, our velvet carries a dense 380-gram pile that resists crushing and wears evenly. Dyes are fixed in closed-loop baths that recycle ninety percent of their water, and every bolt rests for two weeks before cutting so the pile can settle.
Wood
Frames are turned from solid European walnut, kiln-dried for six weeks to a stable eight-percent moisture content before it ever touches a lathe. Joints are hand-fitted and pinned rather than glued alone, so the chair can be taken apart for repair decades from now. Timber comes exclusively from FSC-certified stands.
Brass
Fittings are cast from solid brass at a family-run foundry in Boyolali, then hand-brushed to a soft satin sheen. Left unlacquered, the metal deepens into a warm patina over years of use — a living record of every touch. Offcuts are returned to the melt, keeping waste below two percent.
Lune is LUNO’s meditation on the golden age of travel — furniture built to move, made to stay. The collection borrows the language of 1930s campaign pieces: exposed frames, saddle-leather straps, and fittings that bolt rather than hide. Each silhouette begins as a full-scale drawing in our Jakarta atelier, then passes through the hands of eleven craftsmen before it earns the LUNO stamp.
Alongside the lounge chair, the family includes a two-seater sofa, a dining chair, and a pair of marble-topped tables — all sharing the same walnut, velvet, and brass vocabulary, and all finished in the three colourways.
Technical drawings for Lune are available for architects, interior designers, and specifiers working this piece into a plan. Each sheet is drawn to scale and carries every dimension you need to place the chair, check clearances, and confirm it passes through a doorway before it is ever made.
Files are issued for the standard configuration. Custom dimensions, contract-grade upholstery, and made-to-order colourways are drawn per project — contact us with your specification and we will prepare the sheets.
